Tesco Automation is proud to be known as one of the industry leaders in “Digital Substations”. In 2020, this allowed us to provide consulting services to clients all around the world for some of the most cutting-edge projects in the industry.

The Mobile Digital Substation
Our upgraded Mobile Digital Substation incorporates IEC 61869 merging units and the latest IEC 61850 Ed2 IEDs, which is part of the IEC 61850 University curriculum. This ties in well with the Digital Substation User Task Force that Tesco administers, which is over 250 members strong across more than 20 countries.
61850 University
While 2020 provided a great challenge for our training services (61850 University), we are proud to have created a fully online virtual IEC 61850 training course. The course incorporates our overhauled Mobile Digital Substation with new IEC 61850 Ed. 2 and IEC 61869 IEDs from all the major vendors. For more details on training download our updated brochure.
Digital Substations
The Digital Substation User Task Force saw some impressive growth in 2020 with new users across the globe. There were some very informative presentations, and it was great to hear how “digital substations” are progressing all around the world.
61850 Virtual Training is Coming in 2021
With the COVID-19 situation we’re working hard to transition our training offerings to incorporate virtual training. This will include a redesign of 61850 University. Watch for this to be rolled out sometime in 2021.
