Well that’s a wrap for DistribuTech 2017. With over 14,000 attendees it was deemed a success! It was reassuring to see the large number of electric utilities attending the IEC 61850 Utility University Courses, which we had conducted with Mr. Christoph Brunner (Global Convener of IEC 61850). Tesco’s paper – IEC 61850 Naming Nomenclatures: Making Sense of the Semantics – was well received by the full room of attendees. This re-confirms our forecast that 2017 will be the “Year of IEC 61850” here in North America.
