Tesco is pleased to have completed another turnkey substation project, which was executed by the Tesco Group of companies. Tesco fulfilled the role of the general contractor, and were responsible for the overall engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning work tasks. Tesco delivered the green-field 72/20.8kV Substation Project – which is now servicing Evraz’s new spiral mill #5 plant and coating line facility – on budget and within the required time frame.

Tesco’s scope of work for this project included multi-disciplinary engineering, construction and commissioning services. This included the civil, structural, electrical and HVAC design packages, as well as the supply and installation of the major apparatus, including the power transformer, modular control building, circuit breakers, instrument transformers, 20.8kV switch gear, and the associated protection and control panels.
